I really had a good time in Denmark despite the bad weather. We just stayed in the house most of the time, but those days were never boring with my cousins around...we just kept on talking and of course..eating,our all-time favorite!ahehhehe

Now that I'm back,I'll double-time in blog hopping to make up for my long absence.

Have a nice day everyone!!

Hello from Denmark

Hi everyone!!I'm finally here in Denmark and thanks GOD for the safe travel.
I'm so happy coz I met some friends in the bus. They are also Boholanas who are working as an au pair in Norway and been in Denmark for 2 years.Hurrah,I'm not alone after all.

I sent SMS to my cousin Florrean to confirm if she's really home with Analyn but I didn't receive any reply. So I was worried that she's not home.I took the train to Holte station and then took the bus to my employer's place.I striked the bell once but there was no commotion inside the house,so I went to the back part of the house near my cousin's room (my room before),the black curtain was down ,so I was relieved coz I know that it means that she's inside. So I knocked on the glass window and the dor was open afterwards. And to my surprise,3 of my cousins were waiting for me: Florrean,Analyn and Lisa.Hurrah,I was really so happy and we started chatting as if we havn't seen one another for years, heheheh.

Glad coz the weather is getting hotter now. There was a little bit of rain this morning.I hope the weather will be nice during my stay here so we can roam and goof around.ahehehehe.

Have a nice day everyone!

Off to Denmark once again

Hi everyone!I hope everything is fine with you.
I'll be leaving for Denmark once again, but this time I'm gonna travel alone, huhuhu.

The bus will leave at 10 in the evening and I'll arrive there at around 7 in the morning tomorrow.I'll really looking forward to see my cousins there.I talked to them just a while ago and Florrean told me that Gitte (my female employer in Denmark) has left some money for me (for my stay there)..Ohhh my,I'm really touched.THey have been so nice to me even if I'm no longer working for them.I'm really close to her and she's like a my 2nd mother (she's the same age as my Mama).

I'll go to the city a little bit early coz I'm going to buy a gift for Veronice since it will be her birthday on the 29th and they will come home from Turkey on the 27th,so I can still attend her birthday party.I'm going back on the 30th.

But I'll be blogging there though coz I'm gonna bring my lappy this time. But I hope I'll have time to blog coz my cousins are already planning for our escapades. We're going to the summerhouse of Analyn's employer which is near the beach and we agreed to wear 2 piece,no matter what others will say..hehhehe.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I'm finally back from Brussels,Belgium

Hi everyone!!I'm finally back from the 9th SFC European Conference in Brussels,Belgium. I really had a wonderful weekend there. The 3 days conference was very empowering. The talks and the sharers were really inspiring.I met old friends in the conference (my bro and sis who attended last year's conference in Paris)and I met new friends too.I also made a lot of bonding sessions with my co-SFCs from Norway.

@ Gardemoen airport with SFC Norway while waiting for our flight to Brussels,Belgium.

Welcome to Brussels Airport!!

On our way to the baggage claim counter with Sis Melvie and Zyde.

The theme of the conference was HOPE,that despite the difficulties in life but there's always one true hope and that is our ONE GREAT GOD.

I hope in our ONE GREAT GOD.

The conference started on Friday at 5 in the afternoon and it lasted til 10 in the evening. And we had the amazing race competition before the conference started.I was one of the delegates from Norway for the race and it was really very hot in Brussels and we were so tired coz we have to hurry all the time. But our effort paid-off coz Norway was declared as the winner for the amazing race competition!Hurrah!!

SFC Norway, just outside the conference hall.Waiting for the EuroCon to start.

During the food fest...graveh mi kabusog..the foods from every country were super delicious!!

During the T-shirt Design Competition.Ours got the 3rd place.

We also had our dance practice before the conference started and we were glad coz we're going to present the dance on Sunday, during the last talk.So we still had 2 days to practice. And during our practice,I was so shocked coz some members has to stay on the stage during the dance presentation. And I was so unlucky coz I was one of the 5 who has to stay in the stage..Ohh my,I was really nervous because there were a lot of delegates. But glad that it was finally over and the dance presentation went good.So no more worries now, heheheh.

I'm also very happy coz I met a relative in the conference,Tita Didith. She's from Anda,Bohol but she's already in the UK now.THe encounter was really unexpected.I went to the toilet with my friend and we waited coz there was a queue. Then one of the delegates waiting heard us talking in Visayan and she asked us from where we were and we told her Bohol. And she told us that she's also from Bohol and when I looked at her ID,her family name is Amper...just like my middle name.nd so we chatted and digged our roots, heheheh.

with Tita Didith,from SFC UK.

We also had fun during the gala night (Saturday night) wherein we have to wear evening gowns.Last conference, the motiff for the gala night was 60's look. And we were so "kilig" coz one of our SFC brother from Brussels,Bro Don, proposed to his GG during the gala night.Ohhh howww romantic!

With Sis Melvie during the gala night.

With Ate Grace and Ate Lab during the gala night.

The conference was officially closed Sunday afternoon and the closing praisefest was very empowering. The Norway contingent in general was very joyful coz we won a lot of awards. We won in the amazing race contest, champion for the food display, the biggest delegation, etc.

With my sisters from SFC Spain.

Eating time with SFC Norway.Having a break after strolling Brussels Centrum, right after the conference.

at the famous "Mannekin Pis" or the Pee-ing Boy of Brussels,Belgium.

At Royal Galleries with Ate Grace.

Stock Exchange Building on the background.

Ice Cream stopover at Haagen-Dazs...very delicious and expensive!

Inside Brussels Central Station.

We roam around Belgium after the conference and also on Monday. We went to Mini Europe on Monday. It's a place where miniatures of famous places in Europe can be found. Each european country is represented by miniatures of their landmarks.

at the lounge of J.Brell Youth Hostel while waiting for our trip to mini-europe.

Still goofing around at J.Brell Youth Hostel.

Welcome to mini-europe!Touring the entire Europe in just one stop!.

Inside mini-europe.It's really amazing!

Eiffel Tower on the background.

Total's Drilling Platform,Europe's top fuel distributor.

With UK's Big Ben.

Plaza de Toros in Seville,Spain, where bullfights are held.

One thing we find nice about Belgium is that, the cost of living there is cheaper compared to Norway. We really wished that we had a lot of money during the trip coz it's really cheap there.

We finally had our flight at 7:55 in the evening and arrived at Gardemoen airport at 10 in the evening.I slept at my friend's place coz it was already very late when we arrived in Oslo. And the shocking thing was that, we woke up the following day at 3 in the afternoon!!!Ohhh my we slept for sooo long!!We were really very tired.

Glad to be home once more. And I felt so blessed to be able to attend the 9th SFC EuroCon in Brussels coz I learned a lot and I heard a lot of messages from GOD.

May GOD be praised all the time!

More pictures on a separate post coz it would be a very long post and you might get bored..so I better stop here, hehehe.

Travel to UK

One of my goal before my contract ends here next year is to visit the United Kingdom.I want to experience the beautiful spots that I only see in the pictures and postcards.I want to see the famous London Bridge and the big ben in particular.

My friends wanted also to go to the UK and we already had our initial plan of going there this coming December since one of my friends said that there are also great sales there during the Yuletise season. I just hope that we can make this plan into reality.

I already made some research about our possible accomodation and I found a link to cheap hotels in Manchester. It sounds perfect because one of my friends who's planning to go with us has a brother whose family is living in Manchester,so it would be easier for us to ask help from them about the directions and some other things,if ever necessary.

If you also have a plan of travelling to the UK especially in Manchester, then try visiting the site and take a look of their lists of Hotels in Manchester where you stay for the duration of your visit.

Summer make-over

Hi everyone!
Just want to share to you something personal, hehehe. One of the reasons for my long absence here in the blogging world was my depression about my hair. One of my friends told me that I have to cut my long hair coz I look "manang" with it coz it's too long.I already planned of cutting it though,so I allowed her to cut my hair and but that it should not be too short. But after few minutes,I was so shocked coz it was already very short...huhuhuh.And I really felt very depressed and the feeling lasted for almost a week.Been long-haired since childhood and I think this my only 3rd time of having a short hair.

But glad that I already fine.Good thing and my friends liked my new haircut, though "nasayang din sila" sa long hair ko.It will grow back in no time, and it was also timely for summer,so no more grudges now, hehehe.

Before,with my long hair.

Now, with my new short hair.

7 Wonders of the World

The voting was over for the new 7 wonders of the world and the winners were announced last July 7, in Lisbon,Portugal.

The Great Pyramids of Giza, the only surviving structures from the original seven wonders of the ancient world, kept their status in addition to the new seven and here are they:

GREAT WALL OF CHINA
The 4,160-mile barricade running from east to west is the longest man-made structure in the world. The fortification, which largely dates from the 7th through the 4th century B.C., was built to protect the various dynasties from invasion by the Huns, Mongols, Turks and other nomadic tribes.

PETRA, JORDAN
The ancient city of Petra in southwestern Jordan, built on a terrace around the Wadi Musa or Valley of Moses, was the capital of the Arab kingdom of the Nabateans, a center of their caravan trade, and also continued to flourish under Roman rule after the Nabateans were defeated in A.D. 106. The city is famous for its water tunnels and numerous stone structures carved in the rock, the most impressive of which is probably Ad-Dayr, 'the Monastery,' an uncompleted tomb facade that served as a church during Byzantine times.

STATUE OF CHRIST REDEEMER, BRAZIL
The 125-foot statue of Christ the Redeemer with outstretched arms overlooks Rio de Janeiro on Brazil's Atlantic coast from atop Mt. Corcovado (the "Hunchback"). Created by Polish-French sculptor Paul Landowski, the statue weighing more than 1,000 tons was built in pieces in France starting in 1926 and shipped to Brazil. The pieces were carried by cogwheel railway up the 2,343-foot mountain for assembly. The statue was inaugurated on Oct. 12, 1931.

MACHU PICCHU, PERU
Built by the Incan Empire in the 15th century, the giant walls, palaces, temples and dwellings of the Machu Picchu sanctuary are perched in the clouds at 8,000 feet above sea level on an Andean mountaintop overlooking a lush valley 310 miles southeast of Lima. It remains a mystery how the huge stones were moved into place for the construction of the remote city.

PYRAMID AT CHICHEN ITZA, MEXICO This step pyramid surmounted by a temple survives from a sacred site that was part of one of the greatest Mayan centers of Mexico's Yucatan peninsula. Built according to the solar calendar, it is placed so that shadows cast at the fall and spring equinoxes are said to look like a snake crawling down the steps, similar to the carved serpent at the top. An older pyramid inside features a jade-studded, red jaguar throne.

COLOSSEUM, ITALY
The giant amphitheater in Rome was inaugurated in A.D. 80 by the Emperor Titus in a ceremony of games lasting 100 days. The 50,000-seat Colosseum, which has influenced the design of modern sports stadiums, was an arena where thousands of gladiators dueled to the death, and, as tradition would have it, Christians were fed to the lions.

TAJ MAHAL, INDIA
The white marble-domed mausoleum in Agra, Uttar Pradesh state, was built by Mogul Emperor Shah Jahan between 1632 and 1654 for his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in childbirth. The complex — an outstanding example of Mughal architecture combining Indian, Persian, and Islamic styles — houses the graves of the emperor and his wife, as well as those of lesser Mogul royalty.

Landmarks that were nominated for the contest but that did not receive enough votes to place them among the final seven were the Acropolis, the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the stone statues on Chile's Easter Island, Australia's Sydney Opera House, Cambodia's Angkor, Spain's Alhambra, Turkey's Hagia Sophia, Japan's Kiyomizu Temple, Russia's Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral, Germany's Neuschwanstein Castle, Britain's Stonehenge and Mali's Timbuktu.

A trip to Australia

Since I started working in Denmark 2 years ago,I started to fulfill one of my dreams and that is to travel and see parts of the world. I've been to several places and I tried to set goals on which country to visit next. how I wish that I have a lot of extra money so I can visit all the dream places that I have in mind.

Another dream place for me is Australia.I already read and heard a lot of good stories about the country and i wanted to see real kangaroos and the famous Sydney opera house. As I made more research about the country,I stumble into a link for nice hotels in Australia. One is Darling Harbor Hotels .It's a site where you can find one nice hotels where one can have a memorable and relaxing stay while enjoying the beauty of Australia. Central Sydney Hotels is another helpful guide in finding appropriate hotels suitable for you while staying in the outskirts of Sydney.

If you are also planning to visit Australia and spend several days in Sydney, then make sure to have the best Sydney accomodation as to make your vacation worthwhile.
