What's wrong with my PR?

Happy Saturday everyone! I didn't go out for the weekend and just decided to stay here in my apartment since I'm going to help my hostfamily with the eldest child's birthday party tomorrow. I went to the City this afternoon to buy a gift and it was raining when I came home. Grrrrrrr, the weather here is really starting to get nasty, grrrrrrr.

By the way, let me blog about the PR for this blog. Last October 30, I was happy informing all of you about the PR3 for this blog. It was really very helpful because I got a lot of opps from PPP. But then, the happiness is just short-lived! Just last week, I checked my blog status at PPP and was so shocked that all the 3 blogs has already a uniform PR of 2 instead of the 4,3,3 standing. I really don't know what happened!!I checked the PRs at pagechecker.info by Google, but it says that the PR for the site is not available for the moment..I read an article about the decreasing PR in Jaycee's site and it was said there that most bloggers are also complaining and the most affected are those blogging for PPP, and those having business with Google Adsense and Adwords are not affected...grrrrrrrrrrrr.. I still have to look for more articles about this..But if this is true, why would Google punish bloggers who are connected with PPP??

What a bummer!

That was the exact phrase I uttered last Sunday, after checking something online. For those who don't know yet, I really want to get rid of some extra pounds because my "belly" is growing bigger and bigger everyday, :(. I had been exercising before and reduced some weight, but then I gained it back due to my laziness.

I just want to have fast result, just like the advertisements I sae that after drinking something for days, they loss several pounds. And so last Sunday, right after coming from the Church, I surfed the net about slimming pills, and there was one product that caught my attention. I read the informations thoroughly and it was really very convincing that I decided to order a bottle through my paypal account. I was already decided, but then just to make sure, I typed the name of the product at google and thousands of results where displayed. I clicked the result from Yahoo Answers but then the article was not available for the moment. I checked once more, but then it was still unavailable. So I postponed the order coz I really want to read the result from Yahoo Answers first because it contains comments from people who already tried the product. The following day, the name of the diet pill was still in my mind, I checked in google once again and good because the article from Yahoo Answers was already available. I read all the comments and all said that the product is indeed another spam!!What a bummer!! I almost ordered something that's "scam". Thanks to the net and I was able to learn the truth about the product.

So those you want to order diet pills over the net, make investigations and research first before finally ordering because it might be another scam. Right now, I'll just stick to the safest and surest way of getting slim, exercising and proper eating.

A tourism scholarship program for Filipinos from Austria

I got a good news about Philippine tourism from WOW Philippines dated November 16, 2007. The Department of Tourism (DOT) has just recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the government of Tyrol, Austria about a tourism scholarship grant. Woww this is really good news to students especially those who are very eager to finish their education, but no enough money for it. The said agreement will further jumpstart other initiatives that will mutually promote travel between the Philippines and Austria, according to the news.

According to the DOT Secretary, Joseph Ace Durano, “the agreement is part of our plans to expand our reach and presence in Europe. Austria provides a rich, untapped tourism market and we are excited to show them the adventure, natural and cultural attractions of our country.”

The State of Tyrol, Austria will grant research fellowships to deserving Filipinos. A team of academic and travel trade experts from Manila and Austria will be formed to screen interested applicants.

Blogging while resting

Hi everyone!Hope all of you are doing well and thanks a lot for visiting my blog despite the absence of new posts. I've been so busy lately, especially during the weekend because I attended the 10th year anniversary of CFC in Norway. It was a big celebration and it was fun. I'll post photos later.

But right now, I'm here in my apartment blogging after cleaning my employer's place.I'm taking a break and then I'll be back at 3pm to prepare dinner. I'm also glancing at my TV right now. My employers provided me with a 14" TV, but I seldom open it. I think I havn't been using it for months. The last time it was switched on was during the visit of my cousins from Norway, I think about 2 months ago. But, even if I'm not constantly using it, I still clean it constantly, as well as the white TV stand.:) I really have to take care of the things here in my apartment because my male employer drove a long way just to buy them. He once told me that he got difficulty choosing a tv stand for me because there were a lot of tv stands in display. Finally, he choosed the white one for me, almost the same as the photo above.

So got to go for now coz I still have to continue cleaning my apartment, so it will be clean during the weekend.

St. Peter's Basilica

This is a continuation of our Vatican City adventure. After enjoying the scenic views from the top of St. Peter's Dome, we went inside St. Peter's Basilica and explored the Church that I thought I can only visit in my dreams. Just click the link for a detailed info about St. Peter's Basilica from Wikipedia.

We're already inside the famous Church, the very church that I only saw in postcards and books. I always wished secretly to come to Vatican City, but I never thought that it would become a reality. I thought it would just be a dream, a dream without a fulfillment. I'm really thankful to GOD for the all the blessings and for giving me the chance to travel to places.:)

While queueing, we managed to detached from the line and take pictures, hehehe.

Basilica di San Pietro in Vaticano , taken by yours truly.

with Arlene.

A dream come true! In Vatican City atlast! Thanks GOD!

Tomb of St. Pius X inside St. Peter's Basilica.

with some of the angels inside the Basilica

But too bad because my digicam was already low-bat, so the pictures I took were already very dark, until it finally gave in before we finished our Vatican City adventure. So the end result, I took pictures with my Olympus camera (not digital, the one I received as a christmas gift from my danish hostfamily). And the photos are not scanned and they're already in Pinas.

That's all for now. Actually, I'm having a little regret of not taking enough pictures inside St. Peter's Basilica. And I didn't read a lot of articles about Vatican City prior to our visit, so I don't know what important pictures to take..The readings I did was not enough. The next time I'll go to a place, I'll make sure to read enough articles about the place, so I'll know which scenes and things to capture.

Give me some diamond

Is the secret shout of my heart! As the saying goes, "Diamond is a woman's bestfriend", thus, every woman has to own a diamond and that includes me.:) But who's gonna buy it for me? Hmmmm, since diamonds are really expensive, so I don't think someone will buy one for me. I have to work really hard if I want to have one,:(, but it's alright because I'm not in a hurry to own one anyway.

For now, I'll just satisfy my eyes by looking at the diamond pendants at My Solitaire, an online store that specializes in diamond jewelries. If you want to take a look at their diamond jewelries, just visit them at www.mysolitaire.com.

Largest floating book fair in Subic

Because of my love for reading, the words "book fair" interest me and pushed me in clicking the entire story as I visit the Department of Tourism site. Subic will host the World’s Largest Floating Book Fair from December 28, 2007 - January 14, 2008, as the world’s oldest ocean-going vessel will re-visit Subic to promote international understanding and world-wide education by bringing knowledge, help and hope to the general public.

This upcoming activity was announced by the Regional Director of the Department of Tourism – Region III, Ronaldo Tiotuico.

According to the news, "Tiotuico said that M.V. Doulos, an ancient ship built in 1914, is the world’s largest floating book fair with a record of over half a million books representing over 6,000 book titles and covering a wide range of subjects such as science, technology, sports, hobbies, cookery, the arts, and philosophy. A large selection of these books is devoted especially to the educational needs of school children."

No other place like home

I think having a house is everyone's dream and living happily in it with the entire family. No one wants to share a house with another family or their parents-in-law. I usually hear about complains from my daughters-in-law friends about the downside of living with parents-in-law.Hmmm, scary indeed!:)

I really believe in the saying that "There's no other place like home" because I've been to different places already, but I still long for the simplicity of our home, the place where I can sleep freely and do whatever I want and eat homemade foods. I miss the care of my mother, the jokes of my brother, the noises of my nieces and Eric. Hayyyy, how I wish I'm home right now with them. Though our home is not one of those luxury homes in the Philippines, but it's the best place on earth for me.

Vatican Gardens

Hi everyone! Here's a continuation about my vacation in Rome last summer of 2006. The last picture I showed to you was the St. Peter's Square taken while we were still on top of St. Peter's Dome. This time, it will be the Vatican Gardens and still taken from the top of St. Peter's Dome. We're really amazed by the scenery, awesome!

I hope you like the scenery too. More pictures coming up!

Hire a car on your travels

It's really fun to travel for pleisure to different parts of the world especially when you're with your family or someone you love to be with. I've been to different countries before, but I havn't travel with my family yet, and I'm really looking forward to travel with them in the future. And I hope that this dream of mine will come true. How happy it will be!

Most families who travel for vacation usually hire a car and I think it's a nice especially if one (usually the father) is used to drive for long hours. Touring a place with a car can be fun since you don't have to think about train or bus schedules. I remember that Arlene's hostfamily had a Car Hire Italy during their entire vacation in Tuscany, Italy. Arlene is my friend who has been with me in my vacation in Italy and we also went to Tuscany to visit her hostfamily there.

If you are also planning to have a vacation with your entire family, then consider hiring a car for more ocnvenience and fun. If you want to explore France, then you can ask help from Car Hire France. Or of your planned destination will be Spain, then Car Hire Spain will take care of you.

For more information about different countries where Car Hire is available, just visit argusrentals.com.

Yellow fanatic turns 26

Hurrahh!!Thanks GOD for another year in my life! Yess, I turned 26 last November 11 (Sunday), but I had my little party for my friends last Saturday. And it's the reason why I've been silent for the past few days. I only had few guests and the party was held at Ate Bren's place. As usual, we had a japanese setting since they're still in their temporary apartment. But their original apartment is already fixed now and they're transferring there next week. We're all excited because the newly renovated apartment is much more nicer than the old one. Hurrah!

The party was not so lavisihed. We prepared spring rolls, roasted chicken, chop suey ala Ate Bren, rice and of course pancit for long life, hehehe.

We also had 2 cakes for dessert. We forgot to buy a cake moulder, so we were not able to bake the chocolate cake. Ate Bren bought a ready-made cake secretly. So I was surprised when they took out the cakes coz I didn't expect to have any. Yeheyyyyyy, I was able to blow the candles!:)

And because I'm addicted to yellow, the party had a yellow theme.hehehe. My friends wore something yellow (though not all of them), but I'm really happy about it. I planned of buying a yellow table cloth for the floor, but I didn't found any in the store. So, I just bought a yellow table napkin, hehehe.

The Yellow fanatic! So happy with my yellow dress and yellow shoes!hehehe

Here are the rest of the pictures as we started eating:

Some of my guests with their yellow outfits. Ate Bren, her Hubby, Ella and Tante Min.

With all my friends, after eating.Mga busog na!hehehe

The eating session was followed by opening of my gifts..Yeheyyyyyy thanks everyone for all the gifts.

A pose with Anny Helen, Ate Bren's daughter, before opening the gifts.

Thanks Ate Eves and Cecil for the white lingerie..It's really sexy,:)

Thanks Ate Ellen for the yellow blouses, I love both of them. And thanks for coming to my birthday. She travelled 8 hours with the train just to attend the party.

Tante min (Anny), thanks for the sexy skirt.

My cousin Lisa, thanks for the sexy black blouse. I can surely hide my bilbil with it,hehehe.

I got a sexy black dress too. And thanks to my Best, Ate Ging2x,Tonet and Ate Mafe.

Trying my new black dress! So sexy, isn't it?

Thanks Best for my new Stephen King novels. She really knew my fave author.

A pose before serving the cake with coffee.

After opening the gifts, we started eating the cakes and also started drinking til we got drunk, hehehe. Some of my friends got drunk, but luckily, I didn't.:)

These were our drinks!Tequilla got us by drinking it without lemon.grrrrr

After drinking all the wine, we decided to go to the disco.

Waiting for the train. They're already tipsy, heheh

Inside the disco house. They're not in the mood to dance because headache was attacking them. Blame it to the tequilla!hehehe

Best and me inside the disco house.

We really fun in the disco and all in all, the party was a success. And we finally arrived at Ate Bren's place at around 4 in the morning. We ate because we were very hungry and finally went to sleep at 5 in the morning.Whooahhh, what a party!

Quanta Bella Jewelry

Are you into jewelry collection? If you are, then visit Quanta Bella Jewelry. It's an online jewelry store that specializes in different kind of designer inspired jewelry. You can have their jewelries at low prices.

I'm not really into jewelry collection, but then I have to have some for party and gathering purposes. My mother always told me to buy some jewelry, so I have something to wear when the occassion calls for it. But until now, I havn't bought any and I know it's irritating my Mother in one way or another. :( After visiting Quanta Bella Jewelry, I suddenly got the urge to buy some jewelries. I like their designs and the price is really affordable. Hmmm, I think I've found a nice place to buy jewelries now. One of the factor for not buying jewelries before is the price. I just think that it's expensive and I don't want to buy something expensive when I'm not going to use or wear them constantly. All I need are fahion or replica jewelries that will fit outfits when attending parties and other gatherings. And now that I found Quanta Bella Jewelry, I think I'll already have the courage to buy some jewelry since the price is very reasonable. Just exactly what I'm looking for!

If you are also looking for designer inspired jewelry, replica jewelry or costume fashion jewelry that doesn't have the usual knock-off or imitation look, Quanta Bella Jewelry is the right store for you.

St. Peter's Square

While on top of St. Peter's Dome, I took several pictures of the bottom view and we're really amazed with the awesome scenery. I took pictures of St.Peter's Square and I'm really impressed because it's the same view I saw on Xtreme magic sing everytime St. Peter's Square is featured.

During my vacation in the Philippines, I saw the same view in the magic sing, and I silently told myself that "I was there in that place" and I really felt good about it,:)

Here are the pictures of St. Peter's Square taken from the top of the Basilica's dome and of course, taken by yours truly:

I really think that I did a good job in taking the pictures, hehehe.Don't argue with me,please!

Wall sconce

Call me dumb, but this is the very first time that I know the name of the light in the photo. I already saw a lot of these lights in the Philippines and more of them here in Europe, but I never thought that it has a specific name. I thought it's just light. A while ago, I stumble into Lighting ShowPlace and there I knew that the kind of light shown in the photo is known as wall sconce. How about you, have you heard about it already? Am I the only person on earth who doesn't know about the term? What a shame! But atleast, I still got the chance to know it and thanks heavens for the internet and for the chance to surf for informations.:)

Visa-free entry to Pinas for Russians

I'm glad and I visited WOW Philippines because I read lot of travel informations there.

One of the news I read was the Russians visa-free entry to the Philippines that has started on October this year. The visa-free entry feature was made possible through Foreign Service Circular No. 125-07 dated August 17, 2007 issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), upon the recommendation of concerned agencies including the DOT. And under the circular, Russian nationals visiting the Philippines for 21 days or less on business or tourism purposes can enter the country without visas, provided that they hold valid tickets for their return journey to their port of origin or next port of destination and that their passports are valid for the next six months.

Tourism Secretary, Joseph Ace Durano explained that "Russian tourists are the second biggest spenders out of Europe in terms of expenditure in the Philippines and stay in the country for an average of 21 days. This is a very crucial market to explore and the new policy will greatly enhance their experience in our islands,”.

I just hope that this new policy will bring more Russian tourists to our country to help more in uplifting our struggling economy. And I hope that time will also come for us filipinos to have a visa-free entry to Europe or the US. Hmm, is it possible? If other nationalities have the privelege of visiting different countries without visas, why can't we filipinos have the same privelege as them?

Good entertainment

Hi everyone! Been here in my apartment since 10 in the morning and I'm really bored because I have nothing to do here except blogging and surfing.:( My female employer is staying home today and told me that I don't have to make dinner because they're eating dinner at the youngest child's kindergarten. They're going there to watch to exhibition show. So, I had my off very early. Right after tidying up in the house, I started facing the day alone and lonely.huhuhu.

I had been blogging and surfing and then dozed off for almost 3 hours. And when I woke up, it's blogging and surfing once again. But I want to do something else, something entertaining. So what I did, I searched for online games and quizzes that might be of interest. And one of the results is Quibblo, the home of popular quizzes, polls and many more. They have available Christmas quizzes that's just very timely for the Yuletide season. And I really had fun answering their Harry Potter quiz. It's quiz that will determine which Harry Potter chacter are you. And because I'm a Harry Potter fanatic, so I immediately took the quiz and had fun.

And the result of the quiz is : I'm like Harry. And this is the exact quote from the result, "You’re a leader and a good friend. You have a tumultuous past, but that doesn’t get in the way of your impressive future". Hmmm sounds true.:)

If you are also looking for some good entertainment to take the boredom away, visit quibblo.com and look for quizzes and polls that will entertain you.

Try sending money through Xoom

Opsss, this is not a sponsored post, but I just want to share to you the goodness of Xoom, the new money courier I discovered. Most of the time, I send money to he Philippines using the Netbank of my bank here in Norway, Storebrand. And the processing takes 1 week or more, before the transaction is completed. But it's ok since they don't need the money immediately and the charge is only very low.

But during emergencies, I send money through Wester Union and most of my friends are using it also in sending money to their families back home. It's nice because they can get the money immediately, but the only downside to it is the expensive transaction fee. The minimum charge is 100 NOK (Norwegian Kroner) and that's about $25 and it's only good for sending money up to 1000 NOK. If you'll send a big amount, the charge also increases.huhuhu.

I mentioned this concern to a friend 2 days ago and he told me about Xoom. So I checked their site immediately to learn more about their services. I'm pretty impressed with my readings and I'm interested since I can send money using my paypal funds. This morning, I tried sending money for $60 and I only paid $5 for transaction fee and just like Western Union, it's very quick. After few minutes, I received an e-mail informing me that the money is already ready for pick-up in any Xoom outlets in Pinas. Recipients in Pinas can claim the money in minutes at SM Malls, Equitable PCI, Banco de Oro, Cebuana Lluillier and One Network Bank.

You can also try it and compare it with other money courier.

Headache

Headache is the usual illness I'm encountering when I'm on travel, especially if I wait for long for departures and when I'm exposed to smoke from any form of transportation. It's an after effect of my "sea sickness". Since I was still a kid, I always vomit everytime I took the bus. I'll start to get ill when inhaling the smoke from the bus and I'm always tired uopn reaching the destination and I'm always having headache. A headache that will only go away after eating and having some soup. And I had been suffering from the travel "problem" until my high school years and it slowly faded until during my college days. Thanks high heavens! I can still clearly remember that my parents and my grand parents were always hesitant to take me with them to the neighboring town or to Tagbilaran City because of my "sea sickness". They just don't wanna see me tired and sick. If they'll take me with them, then they have to prepare a lot of things such as headache treatment and some other prevention to keep me from vomitting. But it seems not to work because I always vomit everytime I travel and I think they got used to it eventually,:).

I still experience headache when I travels, but it's ok because the "sea sickness" is gone already!Yeheyyyyy.

St. Peter's Dome

This is a continuation of our Vatican City adventure. Right after visiting Musei Vaticani, we fall into another longgggggggg line once again. This time, to gain entrance into St. Peter's Basilica. We already knew that sleeveless, miniskirts and shorts are not allowed inside the Church, so we dressed accordingly that day.

There were 2 lines, so we just fall in line on the right side, but we didn't know that each line has a different destination. The line we fall into was leading to the St. Peter's Dome, the highest part of the Church. Ohhh ohhh, we didn't plan to go there but we have no choice because going back into the other line is just a waste of time. We paid an entrance fee just to go to the Dome and we used the stairs because we have to pay more if we're going to use the elevator. As in,talagang nag titipid kami. And the end result, we had sore feet afterwards. The stair leading to the Dome was becoming very stiff as it's getting closer. We wanted to stop climbing the stairs and just go back, but it means that all our effort will be wasted. So we decided to continue despite the exhaustion we felt. We took a lot of rest on our way because we were really panting like wild dogs..Blame it all to our laziness because our bodies were not used to exercise....grrrrrrrr. It was really like making a penance during Holy weeks.

St. Peter's Dome, taken by yours truly while still in the queue.

But our exhaustion vanished as we reached the top. The breeze was so fresh and the feeling we felt by just reaching the top was really very uplifting. And the climb was really worth it because we got to see St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican gardens from the top. And we also had a great time overlooking Rome.

On top os St. Peter's Dome atlast!Hurrah!

Smile lang jud gihapon bisan ug haskang kapoya..ahehehe

Overlooking Rome.

St. Peter's Square on the background.

More photos were taken from top and they'll be posted on the next post. So, 'til then!
