Let's have a quick talk about business here, a travel business. Since I love travelling to places, so I'm taking of some ways of earning money that's related to my passion. I started surfing months ago and found a lot of results. There are a lot of business outthere that are related to travel. Example are putting up a travel agency, or becoming a tour operator, a travel agent and many more. There are a lot of programs in the net today where you can be a travel agent and work from home. Sounds really good, but the only downside is you have to buy the software to gain access into their system and start working as a travel agent. Hmmm, risky though and some of these sites are scam, so we really have to be careful. Been reading some of the investor relations of some big travel businesses in the market. Hmmm, been learning a lot lately. Thanks to the modern technology and I don't have to go to the library to make a research on something,:)
How about you, do you know some business related to travel? If you do, I'll appreciate it much if you'll share it to me. Thanks.:)

On our way to The Pantheon, we passed by a toy store with a wooden Pinocchio sitting outside in a bench. We became curious and so we investigated inside. :) During that time, I didn't know yet that the store was indeed famous and that's the downside of not reading the travel guide in advance. :( Few month after coming back from home, I made a little research about the store, and there I knew that Bartolucci is indeed sooo famous,:)
Here's a little history of the famous toy store:
The firm Bartolucci started the enterprise producing accordions in 1936 . Four brothers worked there: Leopoldo, Ernesto, Silvio and Matteo Bartolucci.
After different productions (furniture, old fashioned furniture...), in 1981 Francesco, Chiara and Annamaria, Matteo's son and two daughters started the present production of wooden ware. It is more than 60 years that three generations of Bartolucci's family are united by a common passion: the art of working wood.
An evolution of style and personality respecting tradition.
Bartolucci toy store is very unique because all their products are made of woods. I was really amazed because it was there that I saw a big motorcycle toy that's completely made of wood, including the wheels. So amazing! I even bought some souvenir items there for my niece and the child of my hostfamily in Denmark. I even bought something for myself,:)
Here are some photos taken from the famous Bartolucci toy store:

With Pinocchio, the store'sunmistakable sign.

With Arlene. awwws!!the bilbil is soo huge,:(

variety of wooden key chain and other wooden souvenirs on the background.

The wooden motorcycle. So amazing!

3rd day of our Rome Adventure
Thanks high heavens and I finally got the courage and the energy to continue writing about my Rome adventure. :)
The next batch of photos were taken during the 3rd day of our Rome adventure and more pictures will be posted under another post, based on the name of the famous places we visited.
We started our 3rd day in Rome by going to the street where all the signature brands are there. Too bad and I forgot the name of the street,:) Tried to Google it but was not lucky. For sure, I didn't enter the right keywords for it. But this street is just in front of the famous Piazza di Spagna where the Spanish steps is.

Never mind my bulging "bilbil" please,:)
And from there, we decided to go to Piazza Navona, and while walking towards our destination, we were amazed by the beauty of Expensive boutique due to their sexy and stunning mannequins just nearby Piazza di Spagna and so, I also took a pose for remembrance,:)

Our photos in Piazza Navona and other places will be in a separate post. Meanwhile, I'm checking mortgage life insurance and trying to find out what is it all about. I'm already done with my general cleaning around 2pm and don't have to make dinner coz my hostfamily is going out tonight. Lucky me,:) So, I have plenty of time to surf, blog, chat and surf some more, hehehe.

Back to my Rome adventure
To those who havn't observe yet, I did a little change in the description of my blog title now: Around d' World : events, people, places, travels, vacations, books and music. I added books and music just lately coz I also want to talk about the books and novels I'm reading here, as well as the music I like.
I been sharing to you my summer 2006 travel experience in Rome, Italy by episodes and until now I havn't shared the entire episodes yet. I wanted to finish it before, but just don't have the enery to blog since the the episodes need a lot of writing,:) And now that I have plenty of time (my hostfamily is in a winter vacation), I really have to start sharing it again to you and hope that the entire Rome experience will be complete very soon.
And as I look back at the pictures of my Rome adventure to determine where should I start posting again, my ever big tummy was the first that I observed,:( I was really fatter during those days and it made me wish for a weight equipment. I just hope that I did some exercise before going there, so I'll have nicer photos. But it's ok though coz I really enjoyed my Rome adventure with Ate Cath and Arlene.

I read about the 50th Grammy Awards at Yahoo 2 sundays ago. And since then, been Googling the event and I read that there was a duet performance by Tina Turner and Beyonce and that they sang "Proud Mary" together. I went to Youtube immediately to search for the said performance. I love Proud Mary so much coz it's one of the fave songs of my beloved father. The song always remind me of my Papa. And I also love "What's Love Got to do with it" and I used to listen to the song over and over again in Denmark.
Here's the video, just in case you havn't seen it yet:
Ohh my, I'm so inlove with Tina really and been watching these videos many times already since last last Sunday.:)
Many said that every year's Grammy has a labeled "performance of the year" and many said that in this year's Grammy, this performance by Tina Turner and Beyonce is indeed the Performance of the Year.

The Green Mile

Labels: novels, reading, Stephen King, The Green Mile

Finally, I'm done reading the novel this morning. I started reading the novel about 2 months ago, but due to my busy sched and my blogging, I somewhat abandoned it,:( I really love reading since childhood, but internet and blogging has robbed my time alocated for reading,:) But still, I struggled and find ways to go back to reading again, my ultimate hobby.
As I started reading back "The Green Mile" in the month of January, I felt the excitement of finishing it. But reading it took a slow process coz I only read it while cooking dinner. But as Stephen King started talking about John Coffey, pronounced like the drink but spelled differently, I started to read more. I took the novel with me in my employer's place and read when I have the chance. I brought the book to the weekend and read it during my vacant time.
I really like the story of "The Green Mile". It's a story narrated by Paul Edgecombe, a prison guard Captain at Cold Mountain Penitentiary. He started writing the story during his stay at the nursing home, Golden Pines. He narrated his experiences as a prison guard and the prisoners who walked the Green Mile to meet "Old Sparky", the resident electric chair of Cold Mountain. And the story talked more about John Coffey, a towering, giant nigger man convicted of raping twin girls. But as the story progresses, Paul Edgecombe found out that John was innocent and that he has a special power of healing people from their illness. And Paul experienced the said power as John healed him with his urinary tract infection that he's been suffering for long. With just a touched from John, the infection was totally gone. John also saved Mr. Jingles from death. Mr. Jingles is the resident rat of Cold Mountain and he's not just an ordinary rat, but a trained one. They're all amazed with his gracefulness in doing things (such as eating, etc) and he's the pet of one of the inmates named, Eduard Delacroix, Del for short.
But anyway, Paul and the other guards were convinced that John was really innocent. He was caught by the police with the naked twins in his hands, not because he raped them, but because he tried to saved their lives after someone raped them. Despite their knowledge, but they can't do nothing about it. The execution date was already released and they have no choice, but to execute John Coffey despite his innocence. And I really weeped with this story coz just like in our present world, many John Coffey outthere are executed despite their innocence and paid for the crimes that they didn't commit. I can't even imagine what to do If I were in the shoes of Paul Edgecombe. Good thing and John has the talent to read minds too and he knows that Paul and the other guards are really sad in performing the execution. But he told them that it's okey coz he wants to go and have a rest too coz he's already tired of being alone and being bullied outside.
And as I reflect on the story, John Coffey reminds me of Jesus, who died on the cross to save us from our sins. He allowed himself to be executed to save us from being executed ourselves.
I'm not really a good storyteller just like my fave author, Stephen King, so If you want to know more about the novel, just Google it or buy a copy yourself. The story is really worth buying for,:) I was sleepless for nights just to finish reading the novel. Yesterday, I read the book before sleeping, and then I woke up at around 3am and continued reading the novel for an hour. I just hope I have reading magnifiers to aid me in reading especially when I don't have enough lights.:) And just this morning, after my employers left for work, I continued reading the book in the sofa and started cleaning the house late, around 10am already.hehehe. And finally, I'm already done reading it.
And just this afternoon, I started reading another Stephen King novel, Night Shift and I'm hoping to finish this one fast. Maybe in less than a month coz I still have a lot of novels to read here. So I have to double time,:)

Emu Australia

Surfing really does me a lot of benefits. It's keep me informed about things. I just stumbled into a site that mentions Emu Australia and I'm not really sure what it is. It can be a name of a place or something. To make sure, I did Google it.:) I always Google things when I'm not sure about them. And I found out that Emu Australia is a brand name of an Australian Footwear and they based their name with the bird, Emu, which is the largest bird native to Australia and the only extant member of the genus Dromaius. It is also the second-largest extant bird in the world by height, after its ratite relative, the ostrich.
Thanks Google for providing me these new informations,:)

The tagboard is back
As promised, I did check Cbox today and glad that I can already access it. But I ecountered a problem as I changed the width of the tagboard. I can't figure out which account in Cbox is the one I'm using here. So I have to make the trial and error thing before finally coming up with the right one. One of the typical downside of having several blogs,:)
Keep on visiting me here folks! Have a nice day to all of you and I have to get off from here coz I still have to clean my hostfamily's place. I just sneak out for a while,:)

A new template and a disabled tagboard
Hi everyone! Don't worry, you're not in the wrong blog! I just changed my template and I hope that you like it too. Been looking for a new template for months, but I havn't found any that suits the theme of my blog. And finally, as I surfed for templates earlier, I found this one at Pannasmontata and I think that it suits the theme of my blog (travel). So, I decided to change my old one into this, thanks Pannasmontata and I hope that you like it too.
The only downside with this template is that, I have to disable my tagboard. I tried to put it in, but my link list was dislocated to the bottom because the width of the tagboard is big enough for the space. I tried to log in to Cbox to change the width, but Cbox is not available for now. So I have to remove the tagboard for a while and try to check again tomorrow.
Kindly leave you messages in the comment space so I'll know that you visited me here. Thank you and have a nice day.

My abandoned SSS
Lately, my bestfriend who's already married mentioned to me that they bought a house and lot with the help og Pag-Ibig funds. And so, I also surf the net on how to avail of the Pag-Ibig services just in case I want to buy a house and lot in the future. I found out that government employees can avail of it through GSIS and those working in private sectors or self-employed with SSS. I suddenly remember my abandoned SSS account. I opened an account last 2003 when I was still in Manila looking for work. So I'm not sure anymore if I can still activate it.
I have a friend who is working in SSS in Cebu and I asked her a favor of checking my SSS account and what can be done to activate it. But I didn't receive any updates yet. I hope it will be soon coz I want to know if I can still make it work or if I need to open a new account. I really need to have an SSS account to I can avail of the benefits such as aid in making a loan, medicare advantage and more. And for sure, it will be a big help for me and my future family in the near future.:)

laziness has invaded me once more
I'm back and so glad that I already conquered the laziness that has invaded me for days. I had plenty of time to blog on Friday and halfday of Saturday coz I just stayed here in my apartment, but I really felt sooo lazy and no energy to blog at all. What I did was just watched movies and doze off.:(
I went out on Saturday afternoon though to attend the SFC teaching and I'm so happy that I didn't miss it coz the teaching really helps me a lot to organize myself once again.:) It wakes me up to do all the changes necessary in my life. It helped me to let go of all the negative thoughts in my mind and just focus in the blessings that God has given me. To focus on the fact of how blessed I am in living a life of abundance and living a life that many can only wish for.:) It helped me to worry no more about the future because I know that God has already planned the best for me. All I have to do is be faithful to Him all the time. God is truly good and may God be praised at all times.
